With Corona-virus sending us all into quarantine and slowing down our lives, it is Time to re-think the meaning of this new "spare time."

What day is it? What Time is it? It is hard to say. Only a month ago, before the Corona-virus hit, Time was so clear to me. I had to manage it between work and life, family and friends, hobbies and leisure. I was used to feeling like I did not have enough of it. Time was a precious commodity to be spent carefully, It was lucid, but I had a clear knowledge of it. Now Time is tricky, its abundance is confusing me.

Today, Time is flowing. It is something to try and pass along. A drought turned into a flood. And this flood of Time is washing up all the emotions, fears, dreams, and the things I used to say that I could have done if I had more Time. So, Time has come to trick me again. It's drowning me, waiting to see if I shall sink or float. Are you a woman of your word? Do you still think you know me? It is whispering in my ear.

Do you know these types of stories about a person who has found the fountain of youth and goes on to live forever? In the beginning, he is the happiest of man, he tricked Time, and now he can do and see everything the world has to offer. But then comes the fatalistic ending, and he finds out that Time gave meaning to his life, that its sense of urgency helped him be better and do more.

Well, I do not know a lot about Time, and I surely have not found the elixir of life. However, I know that this Time now is just as precious as it was before. It is not Time or its urgency that has changed, but rather what we should be doing with it. Now is the Time to be better and do more. Now is the Time to do everything you were planning to do when you finally have some spare time. It is Time to take a deep breath and get yourself ready for things to come.

Having a lot of Time is just as hard as having close to none. Both bring their challenges, and both take hard work to make the most of them. We are all about to face significant challenges after this crisis, but we can at least find comfort in managing This Time in our favor.

- We are constantly losing Time, but that does not mean we have to waste it as well. -

A song for now:
